GIVE 'EM SOME STICK!
With our all-new Gymsticks classes, at Virgin Active...
Tipped as one of the UK’s fastest growing fitness trends, this innovative exercise tool
originated in Finland, and is available at Virgin Active in three exciting formats:
You can try Gymsticks in the studio, Aquasticks in the pool, or even Gymstick Nordic
Walking outside in the park. So choose your location, grab your poles, and get moving!
So, what is it?
Gymsticks is a revolutionary total body workout that strengthens, tones, and defines
every muscle in the body. Each format delivers a unique total body workout that’s both
fun and physically demanding, and you can replicate any exercises that you would normally
do with free weights; including squats, presses, lunges, and curls.
Gymsticks poles consist of several components that can be used either separately or
together. Designed for maximum versatility, the poles accommodate various grip widths,
with rubber stoppers at the ends to prevent skidding, and tube-like exercise bands to
adjust resistance levels.

Stick to your level
Gymsticks are colour coded with four different resistance levels, so simply select the
one that’s right for your fitness level. Green (light) is ideal for rehabilitation
training, older members, or people who want a light workout. Blue (medium) is suitable
for women and junior athletes; and black (heavy) is for fit women, young athletes and men.
What results can you expect?
Gymstick poles work every major and minor muscle in your body, which means you get real
results - real fast! You can expect to improve muscular endurance, core strength,
cardiovascular fitness, balance, flexibility, and coordination.
Do the Nordic Walk
