Overflow car park resurfacing

We've had the opportunity to bring the resurfacing of the front over flow car park forward from the scheduled month of July to April.

We appreciate this is very short notice but the contract team can carry this work out for us over the Easter period, which is historically a quieter time of the year for us. This will allow us to get the job done quicker with less disruption. Bringing this work forwards by 4 months will give us a much better parking experience in the front overflow car park. The remainder of the car park work will need to take place towards the end of the project as this is currently taken up with the contractor’s site offices and storage.

What will happen?

The front car park work will begin on Tuesday 15th April. If the drainage system under ground is in good condition the car park should be finished and ready for use Thursday 24th April. If the drainage needs to be replaced then the car park would be completed and ready for use Saturday 26th April. Member Impact: the Front overflow car park will be out of use for a 10 to 12 day period.

Refurbishment update: changing rooms

We've made a great start to the refurbishment work and we are progressing well upstairs in the removal of the Tranquillity area, making way for the 3 spanking new studios. You will have also seen the creation of new doorways in the changing rooms which will be used at later stages of the project.

What will be happening in the coming weeks?

Continued removal of the former Tranquillity area upstairs (week 1 to week 10) & construction of new group exercise studios. Member Impact: Visibility of the hording boards on the balcony above the lounge.

From Friday 11th April in both male & female changing rooms and showers there will be dividing boards to separate member areas from construction areas. This is to allow the team to start building the new changing rooms and showers in phases. Member Impact: Both changing rooms will be reduced in size with the removal of 3 showers from each. There will be a different access route to the pool area. We will be locating additional lockers in the tennis corridor and if required in the gym corridor. Please do not leave belongings in lockers overnight, we will be clearing lockers out on a regular basis.

From 1st May we will be taking over studio 3 to make way for the new staircase. Member Impact: 2 Yoga classes will be moved to studio 2 with slightly different times.

The Sunbed will be removed 22nd April. Member Impact: We will no longer provide sunbed facilities at this club.

Removal of ceiling tiles in male changing room. Member Impact: Not as aesthetically pleasing.

Exciting news!

We're delighted to let our members know that the much anticipated refurbishment work will commence on 31.03.14. You may have seen the contractors setting up and preparing their site office and units on the overflow car park.

Our phased plans for the project will be displayed in Reception as soon as possible so you can take a look at the full scope of the work.

So where will we be starting?

Weeks 1 to 3:

• Removal of the former Tranquillity upstairs (week 1 to week 10) & construction of new group exercise studios.
• Member Impact: Visibility of the hording boards on the balcony above the lounge.

• Closing the kids play area in the lounge and turn it into part of the female changing rooms.
• Member Impact: Removal of the kids room in the lounge

• Make additional openings in the changing rooms & showers, which will then be boarded up until required – This work will take place at night.
• Member Impact: You will be able to see boarded up access points so aesthetically different.

• Removal of ceiling tiles in male changing room.
• Member Impact: Not as aesthetically pleasing.

We are very excited about the start of this work and we aim to keep you up to date on a regular basis. If you want to stay informed please ensure that we have your correct e-mail address and mobile phone number so we can keep in touch. You will see cards around the club that you can complete with your details and hand to reception or fill in our change of circumstance form online.

Thank you for your support through these great changes.

Senior General Manager

We've taken your parking feedback on board

To improve things for our members, we have now introduced a car parking management system.

Please follow these guidelines:

• If you will be using the club for longer than 4 hours, please enter your registration number into the pod at Reception.

• Please park only in the allocated parking bays.

• Don’t park on the pavement.

• Do not park on the double yellow lines.

• Cars parked in Disabled bays must display a blue Disabled User badge at all times.

• No overnight parking is allowed.
