Mathew Taylor is a close friend of Martin Shardlow, the Club V Manager at our Manchester Didsbury Club. Mathew has been living in Bali teaching English for the past two years. Last month he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident which has left him in a coma in a Singapore hospital.
Unfortunately Mathew didn’t have any health insurance and his family and friends are currently paying out thousands of pounds to keep him alive. It’s £4,000 a day for his healthcare and flying him home in his condition will cost around £100,000 on top of that.
On Monday 22nd August Martin and his co-pilot Jon Farrell will be cycling for 14 hours (the time an average flight takes to get to Singapore) to raise funds to help pay for Mathew’s medical care and bring him home as soon as he is well enough. If you’d like to support them on their quest to bring Mathew home you can donate here.
