Chris has been delighted to open up a little bit more about his life to the members at VA Fulham. Do you want to know a little bit more about him in these 10 burning questions?
1. Please describe yourself in few sentences (anything you would like members to know about you)
I’m Chris! I’m originally from the North East of England but I’ve been living in the south now for 10 years. I’m definitely a traveller at heart, I’m nearly up to 60 countries. Goes without saying that I love fitness. It’s my dream to live by the ocean in a house built from shipping containers!
2. If you were a brand, what would be your motto?
No time for ordinary!
3. What would your perfect murder weapon be and why?
The best murder weapon is a Tupperware lid because nobody would ever find it.
4. What do u often eat for breakfast?
I have two favourite breakfasts. It’s either porridge or yoghurt with oats. Both always have a load of berries and honey on top. The perfect food to fuel me in the morning.
5. Which super power you would like to have and why?
The ability to multi task. I respect all those that can!
6. If you were given the chance to travel to the past where would you go and why?
Actually I’d just rewind back to last October. I went off with my back pack on a round the world trip. It was something I did for myself just before I turned 30. I visited some amazing places including Beirut, Mumbai, Istanbul, Hong Kong and Hawaii. Time goes so quick! So many times during that trip I wished I could freeze the moment!
7. How did you start your journey into fitness?
I was a member of what was then Virgin Active in Ealing. I was someone who was always in and out of the gym inconsistently and to be honest, I had no clue what I was doing. I couldn’t afford a personal trainer in my early 20’s so I went to my first BODYPUMP class. I was hooked right away. I loved the group vibe, the music and the instructors! I also loved how my body started to slowly change and how that made me feel. Fast forward a couple of years with a little push I trained to become a BODYATTACK instructor which was my first programme. Fast forward another couple of years, I’m now a Les Mills Tribe Coach for BODYPUMP and BODYATTACK.
8. Describe your most memorable work moment
I attended the filming for the BODYATTACK 100 masterclass in Amsterdam back in 2017. It was amazing to be a part of something that was such a huge milestone in our fitness world and be in the crowd of hundreds of people that all share the same passion for what we do! Bringing the release back to Virgin Active here at Fulham Pools was incredible, I remember launching with Lin and Ross, the energy was electric!
9. Describe your life using film titles.
Frozen, just kidding! I’ve actually never seen that film. Lets see… Up in the air.
10. What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
I was mistaken for an Australian politician by a hotel receptionist. It’s not the first time. We have the same name and it’s not a common spelling. LinkedIn sends me emails when I’ve been “in the press”. Unfortunately, I didn’t get un upgrade.
