Outdoor Workouts at Virgin Active

29 Apr 2026 11:05AM by Virgin Active

Being the place where wellness gets real means giving our members spaces to train, recover and get rewarded in ways that fit real life. Which means, if our members want to make the most of warmer weather, our workouts follow them outside.

Whether it’s tennis, swimming or running, here are all the outdoor workouts you’ll find at Virgin Active this spring

Outdoor tennis

Obsessed with the Opens? Want to do more than a bit of bat ‘n’ ball this summer? Our outdoor tennis courts will scratch that itch. You can book a court on our app for a round or two with your mates, or give our classes a go. They’ll teach you the basic technique, give you drills to refine your skills and help you connect with other people to score a game another day in the week.

Tennis is the perfect spring activity for:

  • getting social

  • cardio

  • coordination

  • agility

Find outdoor tennis at Virgin Active Clearview, Chiswick Riverside or Fulham.

Outdoor swimming pools

Who doesn’t love swimming in the sunshine? With outdoor pools at Virgin Active Chiswick Riverside, Clearview, Northampton Collingtree Park and Solihull, as the weather warms up this is your chance to take the plunge.

  • cardio

  • muscle tone and strength

  • full body workout

  • low impact

But what if you’re new to swimming? Well, you shouldn’t miss out on the fun. Dip your toes into adult swimming lessons to help you lap up the warm weather.

Run clubs

Everyone seems like they’re in a run club these days - sometimes more than one.

And this is your chance to join them. All of the Virgin Active clubs can offer Run Club and Run Club Foundations classes Head to the Virgin Active app to see which clubs and when they are running and get yourself booked in.

Run club Foundations will cover no more than 5km and will combine walking and running. Whereas Run Club will cover distances above 5km and may include some tempo work. In both classes, our coaches will set the pace, keep you motivated and provide a sense of community.

Running is great for:

  • cardio

  • your bone health

  • mental wellbeing (especially when you run with others)

Every Run Club meets at reception for a quick warm-up before heading out for a social-paced 5k. Book your space on the Virgin Active app just like all our other classes.
