Club Etiquette
At Virgin Active, we're committed to creating an environment where every member feels comfortable, supported, and inspired. These guidelines help ensure our clubs remain welcoming, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

Personal Belongings & Valuables
We recommend storing all personal belongings in the lockers provided.
Valuable items, including jewellery, watches, wallets, and electronic devices, should be kept on your person or secured in security lockers where available.
Bags, coats, clothing, and footwear should not be left unattended.
All personal items are brought onto club premises at the owner's risk. Virgin Active accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
Gym Floor & Training Spaces
Return weights, dumbbells, plates, resistance bands, and other equipment after use.
Wipe down equipment after your workout using the cleaning stations provided.
Share equipment during busy periods and be considerate of other members waiting to use it.
Equipment may not be reserved using towels, bags, water bottles, or other personal belongings.
Please follow all safety instructions displayed on equipment and seek assistance from a team member if you are unsure how to use it.
Appropriate gym clothing and footwear, including suitable training shoes, must be worn at all times on the gym floor and in studios.
Mobile Phones, Photography & Personal Devices
We understand that many members use phones as part of their workout experience. Please do so respectfully.
On the Gym Floor and Studio Spaces we ask that members keep any necessary voice calls brief, and ensure they do not disturb others or occupy equipment unnecessarily.
Please use headphones when you are listening to music.
Photography and video recording are permitted only when:
Other members, team members, or guests are not visible or audible without their permission.
The activity does not disrupt the club experience.
Tripods, lighting equipment, and professional filming equipment are not permitted without prior approval from club management.
In Changing Rooms, Spa & Wet Areas
Mobile phones and recording devices must not be used in changing rooms, shower areas, saunas, steam rooms, spa pools, cold recovery facilities, or swimming pools.
Voice and video calls are not permitted in these areas.
Lounges & Social Spaces
Phone and video calls are welcome, provided they are conducted quietly and respectfully. If a call becomes disruptive, a team member may ask you to relocate or conclude the call.
Laptops may be used in designated areas only.
Food & Drink
To maintain a clean and hygienic environment:
In clubs with a Kauai café, only food purchased from Kauai may be consumed on premises. Food purchased outside of the club is not permitted
Food should only be consumed in cafés, lounges, or designated social areas.
Food is not permitted on the gym floor, in studios, changing rooms, spa facilities, or poolside areas.
Water and sports drinks may be taken into training areas.
Hot drinks and glass containers should not be brought onto the gym floor, into fitness spaces, spa areas, or poolside.
Changing Rooms, Pools & Wellness Facilities
Please help us keep these spaces relaxing and enjoyable for everyone.
Shower before entering the pool, spa pool, sauna, steam room, or other wellness facilities.
Swimwear must be worn where required.
Please respect capacity limits and any usage guidance displayed.
Shaving, grooming, hair colouring, exfoliating, and similar personal care activities are not permitted in communal wet areas.
Loungers may not be reserved with towels or personal belongings.
For your comfort and safety, we recommend removing jewellery and contact lenses before using heat and water-based facilities.
Children must be supervised at all times where family access is permitted.
Family changing rooms are reserved for use by adults accompanying children, not as general overflow when adult changing rooms are busy
Group Exercise Classes
To ensure classes start smoothly and deliver the best experience for everyone:
Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Late arrivals may not be admitted once a class has commenced.
Follow instructor guidance throughout the session.
Appropriate footwear and equipment must be worn where required.
Grip socks are mandatory for Reformer Pilates classes and any other classes where specified.
If you can no longer attend a class, please cancel your booking as early as possible so another member can participate.
Relaxation Areas & Member Lounges
Our lounges are designed for members to relax, socialise, recharge, work, or enjoy refreshments before and after their workout.
Please be considerate of others using these spaces.
Keep noise levels to a reasonable level.
Long-term workstation or office-style use is discouraged during peak periods.
Supervision
Parents/guardians must always supervise their children across all club areas, when not left in the care of our Club V team.
Guest Behaviour
Members are responsible for their guests' conduct and adherence to club etiquette while on premises
Guests should be accompanied by their host member for the duration of the visit, not left to use the club independently
Respect, Inclusion & Community
We want every member and team member to feel welcome, valued, and respected.
Please:
Treat others with courtesy and consideration at all times.
Respect personal space and individual training preferences.
Treat team members with courtesy and patience, and direct feedback or complaints to them rather than confronting other members directly
Seek assistance from a team member if a disagreement or concern arises.
Follow requests from Virgin Active team members.
We have zero tolerance for:
Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or abusive behaviour.
Behaviour that compromises the safety, wellbeing, or enjoyment of others.
Virgin Active reserves the right to suspend or terminate memberships where serious or repeated breaches occur.
Sustainability & Shared Responsibility
Small actions make a meaningful difference.
You can support our sustainability efforts by:
Using only the towels, and personal care amenities you need.
Bringing a reusable water bottle where possible.
Disposing of waste responsibly.
Helping us reduce unnecessary water, energy, and resource consumption.
