Ever wondered if teaching Group Exercise is right for you? If you’ve been to one of our classes, you’ll know that it’s our instructors that make the class. We look for enthusiastic and creative people to take our classes so that our members have the best exercise experiences which leave them wanting more.

Could teaching be for you? Read on to find out signs that you might be ready to become a Group Exercise instructor.

You love Group Exercise

If Group Exercise is your go-to activity at club, then you already know what it takes to lead an excellent class and personalise it for people taking part. Loving Group Exercise is key as your passion and enthusiasm should shine through!

You have a genuine passion for a certain type of movement or sport

Whether Strength & Conditioning, Yoga, Cycle, Pilates, Punch or something else entirely, if you’ve got a genuine passion for an exercise, becoming an instructor could be a way to expand your hobby. To be a Group Exercise instructor, it helps to have some knowledge of the area of exercise you want to explore, but there are also plenty of opportunities to learn more.

You’re a natural motivator

We’ve all been there: dragging our heels to a class we know we want to do, only we really don’t feel like it in that moment. If you’re naturally motivational, you’ll be an asset to any Group Exercise class. From giving encouragement and choosing some energy-boosting jams for your session, it’s up to you to keep your class moving and give them a workout to remember.

You want to learn something new

While you may know a lot about your favourite exercise, teaching might be new to you. Anyone can learn to teach and, if you choose to, you’ll learn some excellent skills, including leadership, adaptability, creativity and organization.

You like building relationships

Do you find yourself easily striking up conversation? Building relationships is a key part of making a Group Exercise class memorable. People are creatures of habit and, if they feel comfortable in your classes, they’ll keep coming back for more!

You think about what your class would look like

While sometimes your Group Exercises classes are just about getting moving and finding a moment of me-time, others might have you thinking what a class would look like if you taught it. How would you make sure that people left your class feeling better in body and mind? If this is you it sounds like you might be ready to give it a go.
