When the weather gets warm, it can be difficult to choose what you want to eat. But one thing’s for sure, nothing satisfies quite like a barbecue – meat or veggie!

Looking for something to fire up your taste buds this summer? Our Head of Nutrition Dr Becky Townsend has just the thing. These protein-packed chicken kebabs are marinated in a delicious mixture of ingredients that you’ll be sure to find in your kitchen, meaning you won’t need a shopping trip this weekend.

What’s more, it takes just 4 steps to serve 4 people - who wants to be in the kitchen when you could be outside enjoying the sun?

You will need:

❤️ 3 garlic cloves, crushed

❤️ 2 tablespoons of honey

❤️ 4 tablespoons of tomato ketchup

❤️ 4 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce

❤️ 2 teaspoons of mustard (wholegrain works best)

❤️ 2 teaspoons of Tabasco sauce (adjust to suit your heat tolerance!)

❤️ 3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts cut into chunks (veggies can replace with tofu!)

❤️ Salt and black pepper

4 simple steps to incredible kebabs:

1. Soak your wooden kebab sticks in cold water for at least 10 minutes. (This is to stop them from burning on the BBQ.)

2. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl, including the chicken, and season with salt and black pepper

3. Leave to marinate in the fridge for as long as possible (anywhere between 20 minutes and 24 hours!)

4. Thread the marinated chicken onto the soaked kebab sticks and cook on the BBQ (or grill if the British weather fails us) for 10-15 minutes and until cooked through. And voila!

Why not pair with a BBQ veggie kebab and some minted new potatoes for a fab BBQ combo?
