As member had put it… Mauro “has been quite a find” for pilates classes at the club. Born in Torino, Italy, Mauro has been practising this discipline for more than 10 years and finally he decided to go one step ahead and make his passion a way of living. He currently teaches pilates on Thursday at 19.00 and Saturday at 08.30.

Would you like to know a little bit more about him in 10 questions?

Please describe yourself in few sentences.

I am an easy-going person, always happy and very approachable. I try to do and give my best in every situation and I am very passionate about sports and body wellness. I enjoy to travel and to learn new languages. My weakness is hazelnuts and pistachio ice cream.

If you were a brand, what would be your motto?

You cannot be somebody else, but you can always try to become the best version of yourself! Step by step everything is possible and achievable. Breathe in and out, no rush.

What do you often eat for breakfast?

Cold porridge, with grounded seeds powder, proteins, dry fruits and fresh red fruits with coconuts milk. All mixed and let in the fridge overnight to thick.

Which super power you would like to have and why?

I am not sure if Peace is a super power, but this is the only thing I would really like to have and distribute to the rest of the world.

If you were given the chance to travel to the past where would you go and why?

I would travel back to 1271 to take part at Marco Polo’s journey to Asia.

How did you start your journey into Pilates?

I used to study ballet and contemporary dance and I started to do Pilates on 2003. Only after 15 years of regular practice, one of my teacher suggested to start the journey of teaching. I must be grateful to Violetta who has pushed me and supported me during the learning process.

Describe your most memorable work moment

The best and most memorable moment was my first time teaching to a group of 30 amazing fit people in VA Fulham Pool. I was attending my regular Tuesday class, and just before starting the class, Violetta asked me to start the class. I was quiet and scared but she told me that at some point, I should have started, and in that very moment, without even realizing it, I was teaching to peopl

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

I was teaching Pilates and at the end of the class, I discovered that one of the participant was a university friend of mine back in Italy. She looked so familiar, but only at the very end, she came to talk to me and I recognised her. I have not seen her for 20 years, and the funniest thing is that it happened in London.
