1. Please describe yourself in few sentences.
Hello, I’m Lin! I work full time in event management and teach BODYATTACK, BODYPUMP, BODYCOMBAT and Punch in my spare time. My favourite thing about being a fitness instructor is the amazing people you get to meet. I love to travel the world and visit The Gambia in West Africa every year on a voluntary work project. I also love to cook and cheese is definitely my favourite food/biggest weakness!
2. If you were a brand, what would be your motto?
I’m going to have to steal the Nike motto… Just Do It! I believe that life is too short not to give something a go!
3. What would your perfect murder weapon be and why?
Plyo lunges then I can say people signed up for it Or an icicle – that way the evidence disappears afterwards…
4. What do you often eat for breakfast?
I love any dish involving avocado and really crispy bacon but when I’m hungry I’ll eat pretty much anything!
5. Which super power you would like to have and why?
The ability to do non-stop burpees – does that count as a super power?
I would like to fly. I just think it would be pretty awesome!
6. If you were given the chance to travel to the past where would you go and why?
I would go back to 2015 when I spent 3 months in Australia with work – I spent so much time working I didn’t take advantage of this amazing country and would love to go back there and do that trip all over again.
7. How did you start your journey into Les Mills?
I was a participant for years and absolutely loved taking part in all the Les Mills classes. One of the instructors at my gym encouraged me to do my initial module training for BODYCOMBAT and that was the start of my journey. I have been an instructor for over 7 years now and I can honestly say that this is one of the best things I have ever done. Being able to help people reach their fitness goals or even just being able to help them forget about everything for an hour while they immerse themselves in a class and have some fun is an amazing feeling. I’ve made some lifelong friends in the gym and have met some truly inspirational people along the way.
8. Describe your most memorable work moment
I absolutely love it when we launch a new release – launching BODYATTACK 100 with Chris and Ross at VA Fulham pools was incredible as this release was a massive milestone for the programme. I was in Amsterdam when it was filmed which was unforgettable and then the atmosphere in the club when we launched it was electric! To be honest I love every Sunday teaching at VA Fulham Pools – the members always push themselves to the limit, they know how to bring the fun and energy and the feeling of achievement at the end of each class is pretty awesome!
9. Describe your life using film titles
Most of the time I would say that in life I ‘Just Go With It’, sometimes I must admit I’m pretty ‘Clueless’ but overall l I guess I’m in ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’.
10. What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
I don’t know about funny but this was pretty embarrassing… I was teaching BODYPUMP and my leggings decided that it would be a good moment to split during the lunge track. Luckily the studio was pretty dark and there were only 2 tracks left so I just smiled and carried on being very careful to keep my back pointed away from the participants! Nothing like a wardrobe malfunction to keep you on your toes!
Come and join me for BODYATTACK and/or BODYPUMP on a Sunday morning at VA Fulham Pools – it’s an awesome way to start the day! I hope to see you there
