The technical and vocational skills that you pick up on this course will allow you to go on to independently teach your very own class of 12 participants, from non-swimmers up to improvers.
This course will cover the following:
- The safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults
- Planning, delivering, assessing and evaluating swimming lessons
- The role of a swimming teacher
- The health and safety requirements for an aquatic environment
- The scientific and learning theories relevant to teaching swimming.

How will the course be assessed?
You will be assessed through the completion of worksheets, schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson evaluation forms and practical teaching, with an external assessment on the final day of the course.
