What is yoga hatha?

Hatha Yoga is a slower-paced class with long, strengthening holds and time to focus on alignment making it both an accessible practice for beginners and experienced yogis alike.

Hatha Yoga can be used as a catch-all term for any physical yoga practice that pairs postures (asana) with the breath (pranayama), but here relates specifically to this gentler pace and detailed focus.

The word Hatha can also be translated from Sanskrit into two smaller word ‘Ha’ meaning “sun” and ‘tha’ meaning “moon”, bringing these opposing energies together and creating balance within.
