Active Light

Easy twinkle toes. You might be raring to go, but as a new kid on the block, you might want to take it easy, just until you get warmed up.

Active Plus+

Energetic and frisky, you sure know your way around the gym, and can give most a run for their money.

Active Pro

You’re a force to be reckoned with. With your eyes on the prize, the rest of the class better watch out.

Rebel

The only competition you see is you. So set your own speed, and race yourself to the finish line.

Enjoy the benefits of altitude training without climbing a single mountain in our amazing Apex Studio, where the air is equivalent to 3000m above sea level and very Val D’isere.

Our Apex Sprint class is all about using resistance to get fitter.

The Woodway 4 Front treadmill feels just like you’re running outdoors while the Wattbike (a real road bike with a computer) measures the power in every pedal.  We get you in the zone by adjusting the treadmill’s speed and the bike’s RPM (revolutions per minute). It’s high intensity with a brief chance to recover before we ramp up the pace again.

To make things even more scientific, you’re hooked up to a Polar Heart Rate Monitor with beats per minute displayed on screens only you and the instructor sees. They use the information to ensure you’re working to the max. The result? Challenge heart and lungs, make muscles zing and get the most from your training.

Our inspirational instructors are with you all the way and working out alongside like-minded people is a brilliant motivator. When it’s over, the instructor emails your performance stats so you can see how well you’re doing and where to focus next time.

Here’s a quick reminder how altitude training works: air is thinner the higher you go and lower oxygen levels mean you make more red blood cells. Your heart and lungs work harder to adapt so you end up moving and using oxygen more efficiently, making you stronger. Now wonder elite athletes like Mo Farah and Bradley Wiggins head for the heights to gain that competitive edge.

So whether you simply want to feel fitter, train for a triathlon or acclimatise before a holiday, Apex Sprint is your fast track.

Please attend the Altitude Induction before you do this class.

Arrive five minutes early for the first class so we can set up your bike.

Please note: Be sure to tell the instructor if you have any medical problems, take medication, are pregnant or feel ill on a plane.
